strawberry nutella
I saw a picture of nutella in strawberries once and I just had to recreate it. So here it is. It is delicious by the way. All you have to do is buy some strawberries, cut out the top (the leaves) so there is a hole inside, and insert nutella. Now inserting nutella is the tricky part. What I did was that I made a make-shift icing cone with a ziplock bag and cut out straw, mentioned in my previous post and use that to squeeze nutella out. Nutella is very viscous so I had some trouble with the squeezing but it still worked. This is great for a healthy snack, classy parties, and a valentines celebration! ^^ <3 :3
Homemade cream puffs
We made original and tried to make green tea but the green tea failed. Also, I was being a spontaneous idea maker and instead of cutting the cream puff for the filling, I made an icing cone out of a ziplock bag and a straw to insert the cream. Voila! I believe we used a dough recipe from Alton Brown and used some kind of pudding for the cream. Delicious still! Let me know if you have your own recipe you would like to share. :)

Le Beef Meat Ball Rice Noodle Soup
Being a college student is all about transitioning into the adult life. This includes cooking. I am an amateur when it comes to cooking but the thing is- I cook with what I have, with what I know. Whenever I come home, I always bring authentic ingredients from home (the famous 626 San Gabriel Valley area). This time I was missing noodles that my mom makes at home. I don’t think entree is famous like Pho or other Vietnamese/ Chinese dishes but if you are Vietnamese/Chinese, you know that you’ve eaten something like this before.
Soup base:
Chicken broth: I initially used the can, and diluted it with water and added a whole onion. I also added like 1-2 tablespoons of Vietnamese fish sauce to add flavor. (Fish sauce is a hit or miss with non-Asian people from personal experiences.) After eating some, I had a lot of beef balls with not enough soup, so I just added water and some Chicken broth powder.
Beef meat balls: Comes in vacuumed plastic seal at any Asian market. I got mine at San Gabriel Valley SuperStore. I cut them into 3 pieces each and boiled with the soup.
Noodles: These noodles came in white, almost clear, hard form like spaghetti. Just boil them until they are soft like spaghetti noddles.
Cilantro, green onions, lemon: Perfect trio in many Vietnamese meals. Love it. I added the lemon juice at the end, like a topping.
There you have it folks. From my pictures, its really easy to see how I, a college student, made such delicious noodle soup. Can store leftovers in multiple containers to seperate the soup, noodles, and toppings and easy to reheat and eat! :)
Enjoy~
whip it.
